As North Bay is well connected to major cities using Highways 11 and 17, and with buses, flights and trains, Chisholm is readily accessible, but at the same time it enjoys a measure of seclusion.

TAKE NOTICE that tenders are invited for the purchase of the land described below and will be received until 2:00 p.m. local time on the 26th day of September, 2018 at the Township of Chisholm Office, 2847 Chiswick Line, Powassan, Ont. P0H 1Z0.

The tenders will then be opened in public on the same day at 2:15 p.m. at the Township Office, 2847 Chiswick Line, Powassan , Ontario P0H lZ0.

Description of Land and Minimum Tender Amount:

1348 Golf Course Road, Pt Lot 21, Con. 10, 36R6061, Township of Chisholm, District of Nipissing, PCL 25914, PIN 49190-0249LT.

Minimum Tender Amount: $ 35,000

Tenders must be submitted in the prescribed form (at the bottom of this page) and must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a money order, bank draft or certified cheque payable to the Township and representing at least 20% of the tender amount.

Except as follows, the municipality makes no representation regarding the title to any matters relating to the land to be sold. Responsibility for ascertaining these matters rests with the potential purchasers.

This sale is governed by the Municipal Act, 2001 as amended, and the Corporation of the Township of Chisholm By-Law 2002-06, being a by-law to establish procedures for the disposal of real property.

The successful purchaser will be required to pay the amount tendered plus the relevant Land Transfer Tax.

NOTE: HST may be payable by the successful purchaser.

 Please be advised that Council, at its November 14, 2017 regular meeting,
passed By-Law 2017-33, being a By-law to authorize
speed limits on certain highways within the Township of Chisholm.

A copy of this By-Law, along with the new "Chisholm Township Speed Limit Map"
can be found under the "By-Laws" tab.

 The Township of Chisholm has received a grant under Infrastructure Canada's Clean Water and Wastewater Fund. The project is for replacement and rehabilitation of two stormwater culverts on Wasing and Maple Road. This project will benefit the Township by protecting our waterways and ecosystem, and provide safe, secure, and efficient transportation.

As of July 1, 2013 the Ministry of Energy requires all broader public sector organizations including municipalities to report on their annual energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in designated building/facilities. The Ministry of Energy now also requires that a 5-year Conservation and Demand Management Plan be developed and implemented.
